AMANUENSIS [GLOG CLASS]
This is a work in progress. This class will change. There will be 7 total templates for this class, but I need to get the core down before my brain melts or I become too frustrated to continue.
You gain the Devotion [DVTN] stat. Roll for it as you would for other stats. You cannot speak.
Starting Equipment: penman's knife, penman's tools, the garb of your temple, a pen which holds your voice, 100 papyrus sheets, 10 full inkwells
1 | Scribe of the Gods
The gods speak; you write it down. Once per rest, the gods will speak to you in your dreams. When you awake, there will be 1d3 + [DVTN] modifier papyrus sheets with random spells inscribed on them. When you tear the sheet in half, the spell is cast as you wish.
You must mend the same torn spell scroll once per day for seven days to advance.
2 | Audience of the Gods
The gods speak in myriad ways; you write it down. You notice their language where others do not - in the shapes of clouds, in the arrangement of rocks in a river, in the warp of a tree's bark. You have but a fleeting moment to comprehend their message - roll 2d6 + [HART] modifier. On a success, you have heard their message. When you write these words down on a sheet, it becomes a spell scroll containing a random spell.
You must understand seven such glimpses and engrave them properly on a single stone to advance.
3 | Written in Stone
The gods speak; you write it down for all time. You gain proficiency with hammer and chisel. You can now record the words of the gods in stone, provided you have the means available. Spells engraved in stone return to the stone after being cast [FNCT] times before leaving. You cast the spell engraved by moving your fingers over their text.
For every person other than you who reads the stone, you gain an additional cast of the spell, up to [HART] additional times. Once the spell leaves, the writing vanishes, but the stone remains intact. Stone tablets can hold three spells at a time; larger stones can hold more.
You must sleep for 7 days and awake having properly tattooed one spell on your body
to advance.
4 | Written in Flesh
The gods speak; you write it on your heart. You gain proficiency with ink and needle. You may tattoo your flesh with one spell per large body part (head, arms, legs, etc.). These tattoos are permanent, as are the spells housed within them. You may cast such spells [FLSH] times before needing a rest. If you are critically injured or killed, the spells will be cast of their own volition. Should you lose a body part, you lose this ability until you undergo the aforementioned ritual again.
